Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions from parents about Fred Maths Tutoring.

Who are the lessons for?

Our lessons are specifically designed for students in Years 7 to 11 who want to build mathematical confidence and excel in their GCSE exams.

Which year groups do you cover?

We provide comprehensive support for Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) and GCSE (Years 10–11) students, including both Foundation and Higher tier curriculum content.

What is the online format?

All lessons are live and interactive, hosted on a professional video platform. Small class sizes of maximum 5 students ensure personalized attention for every child.

Bookings & Payments

We aim to make our tutoring accessible and transparent. Below you'll find everything you need to know about our scheduling and payment terms.

How do I book lessons for my child?

Booking is simple. Use our website's booking system to schedule an initial consultation. Following this, we will match your child with the most suitable small group or schedule dedicated 1-to-1 sessions based on their needs.

How do payments work?

We offer flexible monthly packages (8 or 12 sessions) which provide great consistency for students. Alternatively, single sessions can be paid for at a flat rate of £45. All payments are securely processed through our online portal.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a session. This allows us to offer the slot to another student. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may still be charged in full.

Curriculum & Results

Which exam boards are covered?

We cover all major UK exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel (Pearson), and OCR. Lessons are specifically tailored to ensure your child is learning the correct content and exam techniques for their specific board.

How is student progress tracked?

Progress is measured through regular informal quizzes and more formal half-termly assessments. Parents receive detailed monthly feedback reports that outline progress, mock test scores, and areas where extra focus is needed.

How long does it take to see results?

Every student is unique, but most parents notice a boost in confidence within 4 to 6 weeks. Significant improvements in mock test results and school grades are typically seen after one full term of consistent weekly lessons.
